WILLIAMSBURG® Products Program
We are honored to present to you the Williamsburg Fireplace Products line. The WILLIAMSBURG Products Program, established in 1936, provides authentic reproductions of antique furnishings and accessories as well as an interpretive lifestyle collection. Both reflect the rich decorative arts traditions of the 18th century. Revenue from the sale of Williamsburg products supports the educational programs of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, educational organization that oversees and operates the restored 18th century town of Williamsburg, the country’s largest living history museum. Purchasing these fireplace items helps support the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. We thank you in advance for your support of this worthwhile cause.
Below are the various fireplace tools, fireplace screens, fireplace log holders and others that are licensed by Williamsburg through Achla Designs® (parent company of Minuteman International) for this program. Williamsburg Garland Fireplace Collection
The naturalistic carving of 17th century woodworker Grinling Gibbons serves as the inspiration for the Williamsburg Garland Collection. Master carver to Charles II, Gibbons was commissioned to create architectural ornamentation – paneling, mantels and fireplace surrounds – for such noteworthy building projects as St. Paul’s Cathedral, Hampton Court and Windsor Castle. Richly carved garlands and festoons of fruits and flowers became his hallmark.
Check out the fireplace tools and fireplace screens from this collection listed below. Williamsburg Fretwork Fireplace Collection
Geometric designs were extremely popular during the 18th century, particularly between 1745 and 1770. In the garden shrubs, flowers and paths were organized into interesting patterns of diamonds, circles, rectangles and squares. Similar patterns graced gates, fences and benches. Inside the home, elaborate pattern work, often described as fretwork, served as decorative ornamentation on everything from furniture to fireplace fenders. The Fretwork Fireplace Collection by ACHLA Designs® (parent company of Minuteman International) pays tribute to the historic and classic role of geometry in product design.
Listed below are the fireplace tools, fireplace screens and log holder that were inspired by this historical design trend. Fretwork CollectionWilliamsburg Cypher Fireplace Collection
The casually elegant design of the Williamsburg Cypher Collection by ACHLA Designs® is inspired by the tradition of personalizing objects with elaborate monograms. This practice of weaving letters into designs reached a high level of refinement in the 18th century. The pleasing flow of lines required to create great cyphers brings great style to the hearth today.
Below we have the fireplace tools, fireplace screens and fireplace fatwood caddy that reflect this historical design. Cypher CollectionOther fireplace items that are licensed by Williamsburg® but do not fall under any particular historical design style collection are listed below: |
